Executive Summary
J&J division launches VAPR Premiere90 low-profile, small-diameter radiofrequency electrode, which is 510(k)-cleared for use on the VAPR electrosurgical system for soft tissue ablation and coagulation during arthroscopic procedures. The device features a 3.3 mm tip and 3.7 mm shaft that allows for easy insertion, maneuverability and access to small or constricted areas, Depuy Mitek says in an Oct. 13 release. In addition, it can ablate hard tissue 20% faster than comparable devices at its default power setting, and its energy settings can be independently adjusted to optimize power for faster or controlled coagulation, according to the firm. The electrode also includes central and peripheral suction ports to improve visualization by quickly removing bubbles and small debris
