Minnesota Medical Development Inc. launches Rebound HRD V hernia repair device after receiving 510(k) clearance April 29. Rebound HRD V, which also recently received a CE Mark, is a self-expanding nitinol-framed surgical mesh designed for laparoscopic repair of ventral and incisional hernias which can be folded and inserted laparoscopically through an access port or small incision. Once deployed, the device rebounds back into its original shape to allow placement over the hernia defect and "should significantly shorten operating times by reducing fixation and organizing the mesh during the procedure," the firm states
