Small Bone Innovations picks up Link Orthopaedics' Scandinavian Total Ankle Replacement (S.T.A.R.) system in its Feb. 4 purchase for undisclosed terms of the firm from the German company Waldemar Link. The PMA-pending device, poised to become the "first and only FDA-approved, non-cemented mobile bearing total ankle replacement prosthesis," according to SBI, received an FDA panel endorsement in April 2007 (1"The Gray Sheet" April 30, 2007, p. 3).
