Laparoscopic vision system maker Viking Systems announces plans Aug. 20 to acquire German firm Tuebingen Scientific Medical by the end of the year for undisclosed terms. Tuebingen Scientific's Radius surgical system, which gained a CE mark in 2003, is designed to fill the gap between conventional instruments and surgical robotics in minimally invasive surgery.
