Executive Summary
New leader at NDO Surgical: Bernard Haffey assumes the helm of NDO Surgical as CEO, effective April 10. Haffey will help elevate commercial adoption of and improve reimbursement for NDO's Plicator endoscopic suturing technology for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease. The new chief will draw on his experience in bringing early-stage medical devices to market, most recently as chief commercial officer at laser vision technology maker IntraLase, which was recently acquired by Advanced Medical Optics (1"The Gray Sheet" Jan 15, 2007, p. 4). Prior to IntraLase, Haffey served as CEO at NeuroVision, as well as executive VP and chief commercial officer at Summit Autonomous, which was acquired by Alcon Laboratories in 2000. NDO Surgical also brings on John Frantzis as VP-global sales and business development. Frantzis carries 25 years high-tech and medical device management experience, most recently as VP-sales and business development at ocular biometric firm Retica.
