Executive Summary
New England Journal of Medicine study by Caroline Crowther, University of Adelaide, Australia, et al., finds treatment of gestational diabetes lowered the rate of serious perinatal complications from 4% to 1%, and resulted in higher quality of life and mood scores for mothers post-partum compared with routine care. The diabetes treatment group, however, did have higher rates of induced labor.
