Executive Summary
1HHS Office of Inspector General report claims that in six of nine states audited, Medicaid paid providers $12.7 mil. more than Medicare would have allowed for oxygen-related durable medical equipment. Analyses showed further cost savings could be achieved in the 41 non-audited states. CMS replies it cannot follow OIG's recommendation for alerting states to reduce Medicaid, since "these rates are not dictated or prescribed by CMS"...
