CMS accepts UCLA's revised request for a national coverage decision after the agency issued a non-coverage determination in April (1"The Gray Sheet" April 21, 2003, p. 4). UCLA now is seeking Medicare coverage of PET scans in patients "with a gradually progressive decline in one or more cognitive domains" and/or "cognitive impairment due to memory loss, who have had a comprehensive physical including neurological testing and who do not suffer from severe dementia."
