Executive Summary
Britain's National Institute for Clinical Excellence recommends the full range of analog hearing aids be made available through the National Health Service, according to an Aug. 8 guidance. Insufficient evidence exists, however, to support NHS provision of digital hearing aids, NICE maintains. NICE says it will review the guidance after the completion of ongoing digital hearing aid appraisals, such as the Modernizing Hearing Aid First Wave Projects taking place in England. Roughly 1.4 mil. people currently are prescribed hearing aids in England and Wales
