Executive Summary
Instances of inconsistent or loss of intra-ocular pressure (IOP) during laser assisted in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) vision correction procedures could be mitigated through modifications to keratomes adding either multiple suction ports or an alarm that would alert the surgeon to fluctuations in pressure, members of FDA's Ophthalmic Devices Advisory Panel recommended Sept. 23 in Silver Spring, Maryland.
