Executive Summary
Results of a survey conducted for the National Colorectal Cancer Roundtable and released Sept. 10 at a White House event to promote disease prevention show that 47% of all adults aged 50 and older - the age group considered at highest risk for developing colorectal cancer - have not been screened for the condition. First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton announces her support for raising awareness of colorectal cancer at the event and unveiled new efforts to promote the prevention and early detection of the disease. These include public service announcements sponsored by NCCR and an Internet chat room on colorectal cancer through American Digestive Health Foundation's Digestive Health Initiative (www.gastro.org/adhf.html)
