Ophthalmoscopy lens dumping: Antidumping duty order on Japanese aspheric ophthalmoscopy lenses is revoked by the U.S. Department of Commerce's International Trade Administration, effective Aug. 25. ITA revoked the order, imposed in 1991, after "no interested party...requested an administrative review for five consecutive review periods and when no domestic interested party" objected to the proposed revocation published in the April 7 Federal Register. ITA initiated an investigation into the Japanese firm Nikon in 1991 after Mentor, Ohio-based Volk Optical (the only U.S. manufacturer of the lenses) claimed that Nikon's U.S. price structure was damaging the company ("The Gray Sheet" March 2, 1992, I&W-13).
