Executive Summary
SIMS/INTERTECH DISCONTINUES BONDED PEEP VALVE VERSION OF MANUAL RESUSCITATOR due to product malfunctions. The malfunction, in which the positive end expiratory pressure valve became inoperable following the bonding process, prompted Fort Myers, Florida-based Intertech, a subsidiary of Smiths Industries Medical Systems, to conduct a Class I recall of the device. The recall was initiated Sept. 17 via telephone and completed in October, Intertech says.
