Executive Summary
OEC Medical Systems: Imaging system firm agrees to acquire Barwig Medical Systems. OEC previously acquired a 19.8% stake in the privately held German manufacturer of C-arm imaging products in 1995 as part of a 10-year distribution agreement ("The Gray Sheet" June 12, 1995, In Brief). Barwig manufactures OEC's Compact 7600 C-arm system, cleared by FDA in June 1995. Upon completion of the acquisition, OEC plans to submit a 510(k) for the Series 7600 imaging system, "a sister to the Compact 7600" that incorporates a "separate dual screen monitor cart."
