MEDTRONIC MILLENIA CATHETER APPROVAL gives the firm its first high pressure balloon catheter for percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty. Medtronic began sales of the Millenia catheter, which lists at $715, in early October following approval of a premarket application supplement Sept. 25. The PMA supplement to the firm's Omniflex PTCA catheter was filed with FDA in April. The device has been available in Australia, Canada and the European Union since August.
