Executive Summary
MOLECULAR BIOSYSTEMS' FS069 ENHANCES ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY IMAGES IN 90% OF PATIENTS in a Phase III trial of the ultrasound imaging agent, the company reports in a July 17 press release. Use of FS069 (perfluoropentane encapsulated microspheres) improved endocardial border delineating (EBD) and left ventricular opacification (LVO) in 90% of patients, the firm says. In addition, FS069 showed statistically significant (p<.0001) improvement in EBD, LVO and Doppler signal enhancement compared to MBI's first approved contrast agent, Albunex (albumin-based ultrasound microspheres).
