CAROTID ENDARTERECTOMY RECOMMENDED FOR STROKE PREVENTION in symptomatic patients in a Sept. 7 patient outcomes research team (PORT) report on "Secondary and Tertiary Prevention of Stroke." The report concludes that carotid endarterectomy "is probably the treatment of choice" for symptomatic patients.
