TMJ IMPLANT PATIENTS SHOULD SERVE AS THEIR OWN CONTROLS in clinical studies used in support of 510(k)s for temporomandibular joint prostheses, Donald Chase, DMD, University of Tennessee, told FDA's Dental Products Panel at its Dec. 5 meeting in Washington, D.C. Chase was responding to an FDA request for advice regarding the necessity for and types of concurrent controls in studies evaluating the safety and efficacy of TMJ implants.
