The joint venture partners have received a cooperative $31.5 mil., five-year grant from the National Institute of Standards and Technology's (NIST) Advanced Technology Program (ATP) to develop miniaturized integrated nucleic acid diagnostic (MIND) devices and readers (MIND Readers) "suitable for the rapid and cost effective diagnosis of a wide variety of diseases in a hospital, clinic or doctor's office setting," Affymetrix explained.
