Executive Summary
INTRAOCULAR LENS LABELING SHOULD INCLUDE LENS POSITION DATA to help reduce refractive errors from improper lens placement, FDA's Ophthalmic Devices Panel recommended at a March 22 meeting in Bethesda, Maryland. The panel voted unanimously to recommend that the requirement be effective "prospectively for new lenses." For existing lenses, "voluntary compliance" was suggested.
