Executive Summary
Michigan district court denies American Dental Technologies, Inc.'s request for a preliminary injunction of Sunrise related to Sunrise's MicroPrep cavity preparation system, according to an Aug. 4 Sunrise release. On July 16, American Dental Technologies, Inc., formerly American Dental Laser, Inc., filed suit alleging that Sunrise "is using unfair competitive practices in promoting the" MicroPrep "prior to FDA clearance to market the product," the release says. Sunrise intends to file a motion to dismiss the case. The two companies settled an unrelated contract dispute through arbitration in February ("The Gray Sheet" Feb. 8, p. 19).
