Executive Summary
Association of Biotechnology Companies and Industrial Biotechnology Association merging July 1 to form a single biotechnology trade association. ABC members gave the merger a unanimous endorsement at the ABC annual meeting April 12-16. Industrial Biotechnology Association members already had voted to support the merger, which will result in the formation of the Biotechnology Industry Organization. Former IBA and ABC staffs plan to move into new offices in Washington, D.C. by June. Carl Feldbaum, former president of Palomar Corporation, has been named to head the new organization.
