Be Wary Of Surgical Mesh In Breast Surgery, FDA Warns

The US FDA is reminding the public that there are no surgical mesh products that have been cleared or approved by the agency for use in breast surgery.

In a letter to healthcare providers dated 9 November, the Food and Drug Administration said it cannot guarantee the safety and effectiveness of surgical mesh in breast surgery, despite an uptick of surgical mesh use in breast procedures.
