German Reimbursement Reform: Hospitals Hit Back

Federation plans to file its own ideas in February

Architects of the major reform of secondary care reimbursement have asked for the input of hospitals just once, the DKG hospital federation complains. Meanwhile, many clinics are reportedly facing insolvency later this year.

A wave of hospital bankruptcies can be expected in the second half of 2023 when clinics start filing their accounts for 2022. Around 20% of them will go under financially – that is if timely and lasting government support is not forthcoming.
