Feedback Sought On Proposed Regulatory Overhaul In New Zealand

A bill that seeks to introduce a new regulator and replace the over 40-year-old medicines legislation, which also governs the regulation of medical devices, is now out for public consultation.

Pharmaceutical stakeholders have been given until 15 February to comment on a bill in New Zealand that seeks to modernize the way in which medicines and medical devices are regulated and will replace the country’s decades-old legislation for health care products.

The Therapeutic Products Bill, which underwent its first reading in parliament on 14 December 2022, was released for public consultation having reached the Select Committee stage.
