US regulators plan to hold a public meeting later this year to address concerns the devices are less accurate for people with darker skin tones.

Ongoing concerns about the accuracy of pulse oximeter devices have spurred the US Food and Drug Administration to plan a meeting on the issue that will be held later this year, the agency announced on 21 June.
