The US Army has awarded a $1bn contract to Abbott to produce COVID-19 rapid antigen tests, the Department of Defense announced last week. The tests are being paid for from funds from the American Rescue plan, according to the 24 March DoD announcement. The estimated completion date for fulfilling the contract is 26 June.
