FDA Grants Emergency Use Authorization To Variety Of OTC COVID-19 Tests

The US agency has granted emergency use authorization to consumer COVID-19 testing products from Quidel, Abbott and BD.

In a continuance of its support for COVID-19 test development, the US Food and Drug Administration has granted emergency use authorization to several new tests for over-the-counter (OTC) sale.

In addition, the FDA has granted authorization to one serial screening test for use in a point-of-care setting without a prescription, and a point-of-care test that requires a prescription.
