Johnson & Johnson (Pty) LtdDePuy Synthes group announced on 19 January it received US Food and Drug Administration 510(k) clearance for its Velys robotic-assisted solution for total knee arthroplasty, which will rival existing orthopedic robotic offerings by major competitors Stryker Corporation, Zimmer Biomet Holdings, Inc. and Smith & Nephew plc.
