With Sun Setting On Trump Admin, HHS Finalizes Regulatory Review Rule

In a change from the draft, the final rule exempts device-specific regulations from scheduled review.

The US Department of Health and Human Services has pushed through the final version of a much-debated rule that will require most regulations be reviewed – and potentially discarded – every ten years. But the agency specified that the move, which came just four days after the public comment period for the draft rule closed on 4 January, should not be a thumb in the eye of the incoming Biden administration.
