UK's NICE Backs Funding For Olympus Plasma System For BPH

The bipolar electrosurgery Plasma system reduces the risks associated with conventual monopolar transurethral resection of the prostate and works out cheaper, according to health technology assessment body NICE.

Health technology assessment (HTA) body NICE has recommended that Olympus Medical Systems’ Plasma system be made available on the National Health Service in England and Wales for treating men with enlarged prostate after finding that the technology is clinically effective and cuts the risks and costs associated with convention prostate resection.
