Augmented Reality Start-Up Raises $4m Internally To Fund US Launch

Augmedics' employees formed a limited liability company and raised $4m from employees to finance the launch of the company's augmented reality surgical guidance system.

Augmedics' employees have led a series B round to launch the Chicago-based start-up's augmented reality surgery guidance system.

The company’s xvision Spine system is an augmented reality guidance system which allows surgeons to “see” the patient’s anatomy through skin and tissue as if they have “x-ray vision,” according to the company. The US Food & Drug Administration cleared it in December 2019
