As Europe becomes the epicenter of the COVID-19 outbreak, authorities are becoming increasingly concerned about a potential lack of ventilators, which are a key treatment for patients struggling to breathe as a result of the respiratory coronavirus. According to the World Health Organization, around 14% of COVID-19 patients will require hospitalization and oxygen support, and 5% will need to be admitted to an intensive care unit.
