More German Companies Get To Work On COVID-19 Diagnostic Test Development

Another three in vitro diagnostics companies in Germany are working on tests for the early detection of COVID-19, with confirmed infections reaching 89,000 globally by 2 March.

Another three diagnostics firms are developing tests for the rapid detection of the coronavirus, COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2), which should be ready for launch “in the coming weeks.”

The three companies, which are not yet named, will add to the range of CE-marked or research-use only (RUO) tests currently available from manufacturers that are based in or serve the German market. These include R-Biopharm, Roche Diagnostics Corp., Qiagen NV, Seegene, Frontline Genomics, CO-Diagnostics, Primerdesign, Novacyt SA, Check Diagnostics, Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc
