Brazil Levels Medtech ICT Tariffs Playing Field

All medtech in Brazil will soon be subject to standardized industrial tariffs and development-related fiscal incentives, following a reform of rules relating to ICT across all industries.

Whether produced domestically or imported, all medtech products in Brazil will soon be subject to the same “industrialized product” tariffs and development-related fiscal incentives. This follows a reform of rules affecting the development of information and communication technologies (ICT) and related investments.

The legislation establishes a tax incentives regime for the development and manufacture of systems or components in the ICT sector
