There has been no recent impact assessment as to how business will be affected by the text of the IVD Regulation that was finally adopted. Consultant Robyn Meurant explains how industry will be paying a high price, and why many IVD companies could go under.

The current situation for IVD manufacturers trying to prepare for compliance with the IVD Regulation, which fully applies from 26 May 2022, is fraught with challenges. The lack of notified bodies and the likely costs of compliance are creating a situation which is both “real and dire.”
