FDA Device Center Reorg Set To Roll Out This Week

US FDA's Center for Devices and Radiological Health will finally launch a long-planned reorganization that will see agency staff grouped by device types, rather than by stage in the device-review cycle. The reorganization begins this week and should be complete by Sept. 30.

US FDA is moving forward with an ambitious reorganization plan that will see device center staff grouped more closely by the products they work on, rather than by the stage in the review process.

The reorganization, officially announced on March 13 but in the works since mid-2017, is set to begin March 19 and will phase in the changes gradually over the next several months. FDA is aiming for the reorg to be complete by Sept. 30
