Bono-Backed Investment Fund Props Reflexion Medical In Final Funding Round

RefleXion Medical says it has received Series C funding from The Rise Fund, an investment fund linked to philanthropists such as U2 singer Bono that aims to support companies that not only give returns on investment, but are socially and environmentally conscious as well.

RefleXion Medical, a California-based start-up that is developing what it says is the first and only biology-guided radiotherapy system (BgRT) to individually target and treat cancers says it has raised more than $100m in Series C round funding. The company said the effort was led by The Rise Fund, an investment fund managed by TPG Growth, which is co-led by a number of philanthropic investors including U2 singer Bono and billionaire Jeff Skoll.

RefleXion notes other investment partners included T. Rowe Price Associates, GT Healthcare Capital Partners, Sofinnova Partners, KCK Group and Venrock, and corporate investors such as Pfizer Venture Investments and Johnson...
