Despite statements by President Trump at a Feb. 1 Republican retreat that US FDA Commissioner Scott Gottlieb is "heading up" an effort to pass right-to-try bills in Congress to let terminally ill patients gain access to unapproved devices or drugs, the commissioner's position has not changed since last October, when he told a House panel the bills need a lot of work, an FDA spokeswoman said.
