Patient Advocacy Groups Lobby Congress To Repeal Device Tax

Medical device lobbyists and a significant number of lawmakers have been urging the congressional leadership to step up and help pass a permanent repeal of the medical device tax. Now several patient advocacy groups have waded into the fight to end the tax with just weeks to go before it is set to be reinstituted.

With only a month and a half to go before the 2.3% medical device excise tax is scheduled to restart, the chorus of lobby groups urging congressional leaders to permanently repeal the tax keeps growing. In letters to the top brass in both chambers of Congress, 13 patient advocacy groups and a top research advocacy group are pressing lawmakers to take immediate action before the tax returns.
