Two years after its launch, US FDA's device center will convene the first meeting of its Patient Engagement Advisory Committee in October to discuss patient perspectives in clinical trials.
On July 25, CDRH Director Jeff Shuren and Kathryn O’Callaghan, assistant director for strategic programs at the center announced the first meeting of the Patient Engagement Advisory Committee, or PEAC, in an agency blog post. According to the FDA officials the group of nine committee members will meet for the first time on Oct. 11-12 in Gaithersburg, Md. to discuss challenges of clinical trial design, conduct, and reporting identified by patients
