A major manufacturer of plastics used to make orthopedic implants has settled monopoly claims with the US Federal Trade Commission, FTC announced July 14.
The company, [Invibio Inc.], is said to have illegally maintained a monopoly by making its device-firm customers sign long-term contracts that prevented them from purchasing the plastic from other suppliers....
