Cochlear buys Philips Hearing Implants:

Australian company Cochlear has bought the technology of Philips Hearing Implants, which also develops cochlear implants. Philips' design and development facility in Antwerp, Belgium, has been renamed Cochlear Technology Centre Europe (CTC Europe). Some 30 employees will remain at the site, including Jan Janssen who will be general manager. The deal provides Cochlear with complementary cochlear implant technology and expertise, enabling it to get products to market faster and more effectively, the company, of Sydney, New South Wales, says.
