3M Health Care adds ClozeX film device to wound closure offerings:

3M Health Care is to become exclusive worldwide distributor of a "next-generation" film device that is designed to heal wounds faster, and with improved cosmetic results, compared to traditional wound closure methods such as staples and sutures. The ClozeX device, developed by Wellesley, Massachusetts-based ClozeX Medical, is a transparent, adhesive film with an interlaced design which allows the wound opening to be closed so that tension is dispersed away from the wound edge, thereby minimising the potential for hypertrophic scarring and keloid formation. The product can be used in a wide variety of surgeries including plastic and reconstruction, cardiothoracic, vascular and orthopaedic, and in dermatology and emergency medicine.
