One of the premier events on the interventional cardiology calendar, the Cardiovas-cular Research Foundation’s (CRF) 18th annual Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics (TCT) conference, held last month in Washington, DC, provided updates on the latest advances in interventional technologies. New studies on drug-eluting stents (DES), bifurcation stenting, and bioabsorbable stents generated interest at the meeting; however, these sessions were overshadowed by late stent thrombosis (LST) concerns associated with DES. Analyses from DES trials and registries were presented in several sessions and a special hot line session introduced new consensus LST definitions.
