The Healthcare Leadership Council, made up of health care and medical product firm CEOs, is asking Congress to relax the Stark physician self-referral law and the anti-kickback statute, saying that the fraud-prevention laws and regulations create “unnecessary barriers to new integrated care models,” such as accountable care organizations.
