Mesh Lawsuit Claims Boston Scientific Smuggled Counterfeit Product Out Of China

The proposed class-action complaint accuses the manufacturer of smuggling counterfeit plastic out of China for use in its transvaginal mesh products. But Boston Scientific says the case is without merit.

A Houston law firm has launched a class-action suit against Boston Scientific Corp. that claims the manufacturer violated racketeering law by illegally purchasing and using counterfeit Chinese materials in transvaginal mesh.

The complaint was filed Jan. 12 in the name of West Virginia resident Theresa Stevens. Stevens is one of thousands of women to sue manufacturers, alleging health problems...
