Novo Nordisk Launches Cartridges For Roche Insulin Pumps

The companies say the new pre-filled insulin cartridges will make use of insulin pumps more convenient, which could be a boost for the insulin pump market.

Danish drugmaker Novo Nordisk Inc. has begun marketing a pre-filled insulin cartridge in Europe for insulin pumps. The cartridge is meant to be more convenient for healthcare providers when refilling insulin pump reservoirs and could help boost demand for insulin pump therapy to treat diabetes.

The 1.6 ml NovoRapid PumpCart cartridge contains Novo's rapid-acting insulin analogue (insulin aspart) which is delivered to patients with diabetes to maintain their blood glucose level. The cartridge was developed...
