Covidien Adds News Sizes To Its Sonicision Cordless Dissection Line

The new lengths open up the device to more procedures, including pediatric colectomy, the company says.

Medtronic Minimally Invasive Therapies launched three new sizes of its Sonicision cordless ultrasonic dissection device Sept. 18 following recent 510(k)-clearance of the 13-cm, 26-cm and 48-cm lengths. The new lengths allow the dissection device to be used for more procedures, including pediatric colectomy, splenectomy, and appendectomy, according to the firm.
