Covidien plc is promoting Bryan Hanson to the newly created role of group president, Covidien, giving him global responsibility for all of the company’s business segments, effective Oct. 1. Hanson, who has worked for Covidien since 1992, currently serves as group president, medical devices & U.S. In the new role, he will take on responsibility for the Covidien’s developed markets and medical supplies business, adding to his existing oversight of the firm’s emerging markets business, as well as the surgical solutions, vascular therapies and respiratory & monitoring solutions business units, and Covidien’s Health Systems organization.
